Château du Payre
Five generations of women have made wine at Château du Payre, a property in Cardac near Cadillac, along the Garonne river south-east of Bordeaux. This fine property has been handed down from mother to daughter since 1881. The chalky clay soils here are planted to merlot (57%) and cabernet franc, all farmed sustainably under the certified auspices of the Terra Vitis organisation.
