Château Vircoulon
Owned by the same family for four generations, the 23 hectares of Château Vircoulon sits on fine south and south-west facing chalky-clay slopes in the commune of Saint-Avit de Soulège, near Castillon-la-Bataille.
Patrick and Hélène Hospital are the current owners, having taken over in 1983, and it was they who made the focus of the estate purely on winemaking. The vineyards comprise 30% cabernet franc, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% malbec.
