2022 was an exceedingly warm and dry vintage in the Crouch Valley, with just 10mm of rain falling in June and July. In order to retain freshness in the wines they started picking a month earlier than in 2021, and continued in multiple tries over a long period to build complexity in the wine. The result is a seriously impressive chardonnay that shows aromas of lemon-curd, struck match, toasted citrus, nutmeg and honeydew melon, with a palate that’s weighty and concentrated with a broad texture and depth of citrus fruit, with a mouthwatering clementine pith finish. 12 months in barrel provide outstanding complexity to this impressive wine. Drink from this year until 2032. 13.5%
