Château Bel-Air Lagrave, Moulis-en-Médoc 1998

3.125000000 star rating 8 Reviews
Supple and silky-textured, fully mature claret for drinking over the next few months. Classic, cedary left bank claret with a cigar-box finish. ‘A good-old-fashioned claret’ let alone a ‘thinking wine’ are beyond rubies in an uncertain world and the Wine Champions tasting panel loved its elegance and charm. Drink this year and don’t decant.

Château Bel-Air Lagrave

The Seguin-Bacquey family have owned this nine-hectare Moulis property for over 150 years. The vineyard is planted with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 5% petit verdot. The wine spends 18-20 months in oak, between 35% and 50% of which is new. A second wine, Château Peyvigneau, is also made.
