Riecine

Riecine's vineyards are in the heart of the classic region in Gaiole at quite high altitude of 450 to 500m, which means that the wines retain freshness and bouquet in warm years like 2015.
Riecine was founded in 1971 by John Dunkley who bought 1.5 hectares from the monastery at Badia a Coltibuono. He maintained that cabernet varieties, permitted by the rules had no place in chianti, and his wines were known for their finesse and class. Since 2011 has been family owned and led by Lana Frank and totally focused on producing the best sangiovese their terroir can make.
