Graham's Natura Reserve Port
A wine from the Symington family's organically certified vineyards in Portugal's Douro Valley. Rich, smooth and ready to go, it needs no decanting, just a plate of cheese, a comfortable sofa and willing friends.
The Society's Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 40%
A lovely medium-bodied dram, our eight-year-old malt shows great elegance and sweetness, with grassy and yellow-fruit flavours and hints of cedar and honey. Speyside malts are distilled in Strathspey, the area around the river Spey in north-east Scotland. They are amongst the sweetest whiskies produced, and have a lightness to the body with fruity and leafy notes and a delicate aroma. This is an eight-year-old vatted Speyside malt whisky that is a blend of more than one malt. Please not that the label of this whisky shows the units of alcohol incorrectly. The correct units are 28 per 70cl.
The Society's London Dry Gin 37.5%
This is a classic, juniper-led gin made exclusively for the Wine Society by master distiller Charles Maxwell to our own bespoke recipe. The botanicals include organic coriander, angelica and orris which add layers of spice and complexity to this superb counter-top gin.
Undurraga Finca Las Lomas Leyda Sauvignon Gris 2021
The best vintage of this wine so far. Sauvignon gris is the pink-skinned variation of sauvignon blanc, with which it shares a familiar zesty crispness but overlays it with a light, musky, peach scent and a slightly rounder palate and flavour which is intriguing and delicious.
Casa La Rad Solarce, Rioja 2020
A big, bold Rioja which is full of black-fruit flavours and a lovely touch of spice from the oak. This is comes from vineyards in the south of the region where the warmer weather results in a concentrated and weighty style.
Hesketh 'Bright Young Things' Limestone Coast Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Light, bright and refreshing Australian sauvignon blanc, which is also attractively mellow and peachy, with a twist of lime on the soft palate supporting the stone-fruit and delicate tropical-fruit flavours. Much more restrained than the famous sauvignons of Marlborough but still with plenty of fruity charm.
Château l'Evasion, Médoc 2020
Distinctly Médoc in character, this is an extraordinarily well-priced claret for anyday drinking. Dark, scented fruit with a hint of tannin on the finish, and unoaked for maximum fruit expression.
Grillo Sicilia Isola della Fiamma, Cantine Rallo 2022
This aromatic, fresh, dry white has notes of nectarine, pear and peach. The grillo is grown in coastal vineyards in Western Sicily, and here has just a small addition (20%) of zibibbo that adds vibrancy and more orange-blossom aromas.
Côtes-du-Rhône Rive Droite Rive Gauche 2021
A stunning, fruit-packed wine with easy charm. The name was conjured up because this wine is sourced from both banks of the Rhône, with the grenache coming mainly from the left and the syrah from the village of Daumazan, near the Pont du Gard.
Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Domaine des Ratelles 2021
From the Vinet family in the western Loire, this light, typically refreshing sur lie style is versatile, but still the classic match for shellfish.
Primitivo di Puglia, A Mano 2022
This primitivo from the heel of Italy has great freshness and lift, despite its full-fruited and intense style. There are fresh raspberries and blackcurrants on the nose, with a little spice developing on the palate.
