Château Canada, Bordeaux Supérieur 2018

A hit vintage after vintage, but particularly good in 2018. This is from a small area between Côtes de Bourg and Fronsac in Bordeaux and the blend is mostly merlot with 30% cabernet sauvignon providing freshness and just the right amount of backbone.

Champagne Jean de Foigny Brut Premier Cru NV

‘Purity` was the word more than one 2024 Wine Champions taster used to hail this pocket-friendly Champagne, a testament to its use of premier cru fruit and skilful winemaking. Lemony and toasty on the nose, with a delicious palate showing green-apple and flint notes. We offer a case saving on all our non-vintage Champagnes. Buy a case of six bottles and get 10% off. This saving is included in the case price below.

The Society's Blended Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky

A lovely medium-bodied dram, our eight-year-old malt shows great elegance and sweetness, with grassy and yellow-fruit flavours and hints of cedar and honey. Speyside malts are distilled in Strathspey, the area around the river Spey in north-east Scotland. They are amongst the sweetest whiskies produced, and have a lightness to the body with fruity and leafy notes and a delicate aroma. This is an eight-year-old vatted Speyside malt whisky that is a blend of more than one malt. Please not that the label of this whisky shows the units of alcohol incorrectly. The correct units are 28 per 70cl.

Scotland £24.00 per bottle

The Society's London Dry Gin 70cl

This is a classic, juniper-led gin made exclusively for the Wine Society by master distiller Charles Maxwell to our own bespoke recipe. The botanicals include organic coriander, angelica and orris which add layers of spice and complexity to this superb counter-top gin.

England £17.50 per bottle

The Society's Tawny Port

New name and label, the same versatile young Port made for us by the Symington family. As delicious before a meal as after, and with or without dessert or cheese. The new label shows the pipes, or barrels, traditionally used to mature and transport port. The name change reflects the style that this Port has always been, and follows the IVDP – the Port and Douro Wines Institute – tightening rules requiring labelling to be more specific.

Portugal £12.95 per bottle

Dourthe No 1 Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux 2023

From Dourthe, pioneers of modern Bordeaux sauvignon, comes this fresh white showing aromatic complexity and charming fruit.

France £9.25 per bottle
2024 - 2025

Navajas Crianza, Rioja 2019

A flattering and expressive Rioja full of vanilla and red-fruit flavour made in the oaky style. It is consistently a favourite of members' year after year. Navajas get their hands on some of the finest fruit from Rioja`s best vineyards. They used to sell the fruit on to the big names, including CVNE, but now, wisely, have decided to keep it for themselves.

Spain £9.50 per bottle
2023 - 2026

Rata Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Made by James Macdonald, winemaker at the iconic Marlborough winery, Hunters, this is fresh and zesty with mouthwatering pineapple and lime-peel aromas. A consistently popular wine which is crisp and irresistibly refreshing.

New Zealand £8.95 per bottle

Sangiovese-Primitivo Cielo Via Mare, Puglia 2023

Juicy, ripe red-cherry and strawberry-scented Italian red from warm yet windy vineyards. A great go-to wine, combining the fresh acidity of sangiovese with the richness of primitivo in a style which works well with a wide range of foods.

Côtes-du-Rhône, Domaine Jaume 2022

Three generations of the Jaume family farm some 200 acres of vineyard in the village of Vinsobres. The climate here is influenced by Alpine foothills so that cooling breezes play on the vines, preserving fresh-fruit flavours in the wines. Fleshy and generous core with bright red berries and hint of liquorice and clove.
