Claret and White Burgundy Case
Wines included
Château Moulin Riche, Saint-Julien 2016
Velvety Saint-Juien with plush fruit and lively freshness. For relatively early drinking, this is providing a great deal of pleasure in this top vintage.
The Society's 150th Anniversary Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2020
We were delighted when Jean-Marc Brocard and his son Julien agreed to bottle this under our 150th Anniversary label to celebrate three decades of working together. This taut, appley wine is delicious now but will change and mellow over time: the firm bright fruit will soften, and a hint of honey will start to emerge. Decant 20 minutes before serving. Château Tronquoy-Lalande, Saint-Estèphe 2016
Under the same ownership as nearby Château Montrose, and the same care and attention is lavished on this excellent property located at the northern end of the Médoc. This is a full, rich claret from an exceptional vintage for Saint-Estèphe.
Olivier Leflaive Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc 2021
For an ‘immensely classy` white Burgundy, this apple-scented triumph comes from a great producer and the cool 2021 vintage. Our Wine Champions tasters awarded high marks for its ‘very fine oak` and ‘oyster-shell finish`.
La Chenade, Lalande de Pomerol 2021
A smooth, cool 100% Bordeaux merlot from Noémie Durantou, displaying savoury dark-berry fruit character, a hint of oak and grainy, ripe tannins on the finish.
Domaine de Bellene, Saint-Romain Vieilles Vignes Blanc 2022
From a cool, high-altitude village, this was matured in large barrels to avoid masking its fine, fresh apple and melon flavour with a firm fleshed palate. Maturation i n the bigger barrels avoids over-oaking the pure, fresh aromas.
