Coelheiros Rosé, Alentejo 2024

0 star rating 0 Reviews
From the heart of Portugal’s Alentejo region, Coelheiros is a forward-thinking estate known for its commitment to sustainable farming methods and biodiversity, with a strong focus on soil health and ecosystem balance. Their 2024 rosé is a shining example of the quality and character that thoughtful vineyard management can achieve. A blend of 70% syrah and 30% touriga nacional, the wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel, with a small portion (less than 20%) aged briefly in old oak to build texture without masking freshness. The result is a pale salmon-pink rosé that smells incredibly inviting, with aromas of strawberries and cream, wildflowers and a delicate hint of lavender. On the palate, it strikes a beautiful balance, both crisp and vibrant, but also rounded and complete, with a succulent core of ripe red fruit and a clean, mineral finish. This is a serious, quietly sophisticated rosé that offers more than simple refreshment. Ideal for sipping in the sun or pairing with summer salads, grilled vegetables or seafood, this is rosé with heart, depth and a real sense of place.
