Cornas La Granite Case

CASE3
0 star rating 0 Reviews
Named after the granite soils of the vineyard, the numbers on the wines refer to the degrees of steepness of the vineyard slopes. Unlike his La Geynale cuvée, the grapes are 100% de-stemmed, with the Granit 30 coming from younger vines and the Granit 60 made up of older-vine fruit (30-100 years old) from a few different parcels. 2019 is still youthful with plenty of substance and grip, 2020 is a vintage ‘solaire’ with richness and accessibility but minimal extremes leading to a fresh profile with instant appeal and 2021 is much lighter in style with a cooler fruit profile than 2019 and 2020 and is approachable earlier.

Cornas Granit 60, Vincent Paris 2019

Granit 60 made up of older vine fruit (30-100 years old) from a few different parcels on a 60% slope. This is a classic Cornas with chunky tannins and lots of tapenade, smoke and pepper. The wine will benefit from cellaring or decanting. Ideal with game and roast beef. Drink from 2026 to 2040.

Cornas Granit 60, Domaine Vincent Paris 2020

Granit 60 made up of older vine fruit (30-100 years old) from a few different parcels. A steep slope at 60% gradient, the 2020 displays tapenade, pepper and blueberry and cassis notes. Tannins are evident, but are coated with silkiness attributed to the warm vintage.
