Jonquères d’Oriola
The Jonquères d’Oriola family have been growers in the Roussillon, mainland France’s southernmost wine region, since 1485, and now own three domains totalling 80 hectares, based around a 12th century Templar castle, an 11th century chapel to Our Lady of Paradise, and the Col de Mollo 600 feet above sea level. Today Philippe Jonquères d'Oriola is the current owner, working alongside his son, and 27th generation of the family make wine, William. The family combine a passion for horses (Philippe’s ancestor was an Olympic gold medallist equestrian in 1954 and 1964) with their passion for wine, and in both they have always strived for excellence.
