Ten years in bottle demonstrates the serious pedigree of this fine chardonnay. Drinking wonderfully now, yet with more life left in it than predicted on release, this is a joy. The nose shows baked apple, delicate cinnamon notes and toasted brioche, all held together with the zesty zip of preserved lemon. The focused palate is full of energy, but silky with an attractive mellowness. On the palate theirs is ripe nectarine, a hint of juicy orange, fresh citrus and freshly baked and buttered bread. The finish is long with a mouthwatering salinity. Complex and a great case for fine New Zealand chardonnay.

Dog Point, along with a few other top Marlborough producers, cleverly saw the ageing potential for top sauvignon blanc, and put a parcel to one side. We have been offered a UK exclusive on this delicious wine with 10 years’ bottle age for members to enjoy. This has blossomed into a exquisitely elegant wine, with vibrant peach, kiwi-fruit and grapefruit aromas. A delicately creamy note softens the fruit on the nose and a complementary note of honeysuckle and gooseberry sits in the background. The palate is still remarkably fresh and full of life but the additional layers that have developed with time in bottle really elevate this wine.
