Red Wine from France - Languedoc
In these times of uncertainty, the Languedoc should do quite well. Arguably the largest viticultural region of France, and perhaps the world, it has always been in crisis so nothing is new, but while other wine regions have been finding it difficult the Languedoc is thriving as it has been able to produce wines of genuinely excellent value for money. This is a simple, unpretentious red made from grenache, carignan and syrah from an excellent vintage and comes from two co-operatives, one in St Chinian and one in the Minervois.
