Emiliana Vigno DO Valle de Maule 2020

0 star rating 0 Reviews
This is made from carignan vines planted in the 1950s, bush trained and organically farmed without irrigation. Wonderfully bright red and black fruit on the palate, verve and energy, and a very long finish. Such is the enthusiasm for carignan that a new appellation, Vigno, has been created for it. Twelve Chilean wineries originally signed up to an agreement that the wines must have a minimum of 65% carignan, be from vines at least 30 years old, with the balance coming from old-vine varieties, or grafted onto old país rootstock, from the Maule Secano area. All varieties must be dry farmed. The result is impressive wines like this.
