Exhibition Mixed Case
Wines included
The Society's Exhibition Haut-Médoc 2021
An appealing, early-drinking claret from member favourite producer, Chateau Beaumont. 2021 was a change in pace for Bordeaux following a number of big, powerful vintages, and has produced wines of great aromatic complexity, moderate weight and refreshing red-fruited palates. Now ready to drink this has aromas and flavours of redcurrants, strawberries and light herbaceous notes that'll be best enjoyed with food.
The Society's Exhibition Chablis 2023
Bright, fresh and mineral, unoaked Chablis made for us by Jean-Marc Brocard, and kept on its yeast lees in tank to fill out the mid-palate.
The Society's Exhibition Chenin Blanc, Western Cape 2022
From South African chenin specialist Chris Alheit, from offcuts of his world-renowned Alheit Vineyards range, part barrel-fermented and matured a little longer on the fine yeast lees in 2022, bringing extra breadth and some toasty richness. Having Chris make our Exhibition Chenin is a matter of great pride.
The Society's Exhibition Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Elegant, mineral, citrusy and crisp sauvignon which is a nod in style to the classic sauvignons of France, rather than the more opulent Marlborough stereotype. This is pretty on the nose, with crisp apple and elderflower notes. The palate is focused and refreshing, with bright lemon and gooseberry. Drink this year and next.
The Society's Exhibition Mendoza Malbec 2023
Flagship Argentine malbec from the pioneering Catena winery, this is deservedly popular. The new vintage of this sophisticated and dependable red picked up where last year`s Wine Champion-winning vintage left off, winning plaudits this year for its ‘plummy round fruit, plenty of freshness and a lick of oak.`
The Society's Exhibition Rioja Reserva 2020
A smooth and exotic Exhibition-label bottling from La Rioja Alta. The 2020 is classic displaying full and rich savoury notes, with gentle spice making this traditional-style Rioja so appealing. This comes from the famous La Rioja Alta bodega, whose wines are known for their finesse as well as depth of flavour. We chose them because they make the very best traditional style of Rioja, released only after long ageing in barrel and bottle. This results in a complex, lengthy wine with fine, delicate texture which is amazingly fragrant and stylish, and deservedly a Wine Champion for 2024.
