Côte Roannaise Éclat de Granite, Domaine Sérol 2022
At about an hour's drive from Beaujolais and on similar bedrock of granite, this is still gamay country and well capable of producing top-quality examples of the grape. Thanks to the long hot summer with just enough rain, this is quite delicious with its fleshy and refreshing cherry fruit.

Csilla and her brother, Csaba, are leading the charge in Hungary's Szekszárd region in promoting pure, fruity and elegant reds over the heavier, extracted versions of old. Exclusive to The Society this kekfrankos-led blend is packed with redcurrant fruit, light spice and fine tannins. Delicious, complex and ideal chilled.
Anna's Way Nelson Albariño 2023
Whilst sauvignon remains the biggest export for New Zealand wine, the climate is ideal for growing a number of different grape varieties. This is a grape famous for the wines it produces in Spain and Portugal, and this one caught our New Zealand buyer Freddy Bulmer's eye on a recent trip to his patch. In the New Zealand climate it maintains its lovely crisp and zesty lemon-focused flavours and its sea-shell salinity, but picks up a little more fleshy green apple and generosity on the mid-palate. The nose is delicately aromatic and citrus-led and the palate is textured, fresh and dry, making for a very refreshing wine with New Zealand's characteristic charm and easy-drinking style.
South By South West Treeton Margaret River Chenin Blanc 2023
Chenin blanc has a long history in Western Australia, with the first plantings coming from South Africa over 150 years ago. This example comes from the Treeton sub-region of Margaret River in Western Australia and is brooding and delicately toasty on the nose, with notes of nougat and charred peaches. The palate is broad and fleshy with nicely integrated acidity. Long and complex on the finish with a note of peppery brioche, lime zest and mouthwatering salinity. This is barrel fermented but using no new oak, meaning the texture is full and rounded but without imparting any over-the-top oak flavour.
Fitou ‘Les Megalithes', Domaine Bertrand Bergé 2021
This is a cuvée of old vines made mostly from the carignan grape. there is great fruit quality in this vintage, with both weight and freshness.
Pinot Blanc Midelberg, Boeckel 2022
Pinot blanc can be made from the auxerrois grape, as per appellation rules in Alsace, and this is 100% auxerrois, certified organic. It has fresh, bright fruit on the nose followed by the creamier texture typical of the grape variety.
