The history of the Saladini Pilastri estate stretches back to 1000 AD and the 325 hectares of vineyards cover the limestone hills of Spinetoli and the rolling sunny hills of Monte Prandone and Porto d'Ascoli. The family have been here from the beginning and the land is vitally important to them, so much so that this was the first estate in Italy to be certified organic in 1994.
Production is a mix of red and white wines with winemaking and viticulture overseen by expert oenologist Alberto Antonini. A strict selection of grapes at harvest ensures high quality here.
Coppery straw yellow. A really attractive citrus and orange nose of real depth. Fresh and viscous on the palate and a little mouth-watering. Good length too and great value. Very good value. 16+/20
