Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero, Andrea Arici NV
Andrea Arici is one of the leading growers of Franciacorta, home to some of Italy’s best traditional-method sparkling wines. Imbued with the brilliant, crystalline freshness of the foothills of the Italian Alps – Andrea’s 12 hectares of renovated terraced vines sit at 350m above sea level, creating a cooler microclimate – this is an intense, elegant Franciacorta, with flavours of white peach, just nudging into riper yellow stone fruit, and salty almonds. This majority chardonnay-based blend (90% chardonnay with 10% pinot noir) has the linearity and precision of a great Blanc de Blancs Champagne, a fine and persistent mousse, and a long, saline finish.
