Wines included

Corbières Rouge Alba, Château Ollieux-Romanis 2017

In this cuvée, made from grenache and cinsault, Pierre Borie is determined to reproduce the kind of style found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The absence of syrah means the colour is relatively pale, and the wine is very silky, round and spicy and with great length and complexity.

France £23.00 per bottle

Madiran, Château Bouscassé 2016

Alain Brumont has been the ambassador for the wines of Madiran and he remains the leading producer. This is Madiran at its most refined – dark, full and rich but also with complexity and length of flavour.

France £18.00 per bottle

Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge 2016

A ripe and perfectly poised vintage of this great southern French red and a tribute to founder Aimé Guibert, who sadly died recently. Dominated by blackcurrant fruit when tasted in November last year. 2021–2034. Magnums available.

France £30.00 per bottle

Saint-Mont, Château de Sabazan 2016

Tannat dominated red from this flagship estate in this part of south-west France, part of the Plaimont group of cooperatives. Tannat, cabernet sauvignon and pinenc are planted on light, sandy soils giving Graves-like elegance to this exquisite red.

France £14.95 per bottle

Coteaux d'Aix en Provence, Château Vignelaure 2015

2015 was an outstanding vintage for this richly scented cabernet-syrah blend. There is blackcurrant and blackberry with a touch of olive, sprinkled with Provençal herbs. Smooth tannins are the result of long ageing in barrel and bottle.

France £19.50 per bottle

Bandol, Domaine Dupuy de Lôme 2019

This comes from the cooler eastern part of Bandol on Povence, and from sandstone-based soils. Sumptuous, fleshy and full-bodied with a flavour of spiced plums.

France £18.50 per bottle
