Saint-Mont, Les Vignes Retrouvées 2018

Dry and full-bodied white from Gascony in the French south-west, with complex aromas of nectarine and citrus. The Plaimont co-op is at the centre of a vineyard that had never regained its confidence following the phylloxera catastrophe of more than a century ago, and Saint Mont had to be reconstructed from scratch using the traditional grape varieties on show here: gros manseng, petit courbu and arrufiac.

France £8.95 per bottle

Viognier, Pays d'Oc, Pennautier 2020

Delicately fragrant, soft, full-bodied southern French white offering tropical fruit flavours that are round and delicious.

Côtes du Roussillon Héritage Rouge, Château de Corneilla 2019

A traditional style of Roussillon red with syrah dominant but with grenache and carignan also in the blend. The estate traces its origins back to 1485, when much of the Roussillon, in the deepest south of France, was Spanish. Full-flavoured with plums and spice.

France £8.95 per bottle

Bergerac Blanc La Cuvée des Conti, Château Tour des Gendres 2020

With peachy citrus fruit on the palate and very good length, this is an excellent white. A full-flavoured blend of 50% semillon, 40% sauvignon blanc and the balance muscadelle, it's a must with trout or salmon.

France £9.95 per bottle

Cahors, Château de Hauterive 2019
