Gewürztraminer, Jean-Fritz, Weingut Jülg 2022
Heat and drought conspired to reduce the size of the crop in the 2022 vintage so that the estate found themselves obliged to buy in grapes and from both sides of the Franco-German border, hence the name. The style remains unchanged; fragrant, light, fruity and refreshing.

Weingut Jülg
This is a family estate based in the southern Palatinate, right on the border with Alsace. Indeed, the border as it was finally drawn in 1945 actually cuts through their vineyards so that half of their vines are actually in France and overlook the lovely Alsace town of Wissembourg! The wine styles here reflect all that is best in today's Germany: dry, fruity wines from a raft of different grape varieties.
