Glasgow - Loire Growers - Walkaround tasting
Join us and a bunch of wine growers for a summer walkaround event highlighting the fabulous variety of wine styles to be found in the Loire valley, rightfully known as the ‘jardin de France’, including the whites of Muscadet, Touraine and Sancerre, the sparklers of Saumur and the reds of Chinon and Bourgueil.
Join us for a summer walkaround event highlighting the vinous fruits of the ‘jardin de France’. The complex geology and diverse climates along France’s longest river serve up a fabulous variety of wine styles. Whether bone-dry Muscadet from near the mouth of the river and crisp sauvignon blancs from the bend around Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé via age-worthy chenin blancs, or cool, poised, fragrant reds made from pinot noir, cabernet franc or gamay, there is something for everyone. And don’t forget the classic sparkling wines of Saumur.
With this choice of white or red, still or sparkling and dry, off-dry or intensely sweet, no other region could meet the demands of a complete tasting menu, from aperitif to dessert. In this celebration of the Loire we assemble more than 30 wines to try, poured for you by their growers and makers.
