California Vintage 2012
An absolutely outstanding vintage right across the state, not to mention an abundant one. A warm, but not too hot, and dry season with lovely weather late on and throughout the harvest saw perfectly healthy, perfectly ripe grapes coming in from the Russian River Valley all the way down to Santa Barbara. Winemakers are ecstatic about the quality and the potential of the wines. Concentration, structure and deep colour in the reds are met head on by freshness and ripe fruit characters. Whites too are vibrant and fruity but in the best have the balance and texture to go the distance.
