Opulent, multi-layered and seductive with generous spicy flavour, this is one of Italy's great reds. Graticci are the straw mats on which the perfect fruit is laid for a short time in the Puglian sun to intensify the flavour.

We have once again agreed a great price on this wine which gives a great introduction to Joel Peterson's famously "no wimpy wine" style. This Californian zinfandel is from vines planted on sandy soils in the 1880s, leading to a characterful wine of spiced blackberry, mocha and intense red fruit that is best decanted.

Lovely traditional-style wine, a blend of 40% malbec, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 20% merlot, aged in large oak vats for nine-and-a-half years until soft and mellow. With soothing, mature notes of tobacco, cedar and leather, this has some similarities with Musar and Rioja reservas but with its own Argentine twist.

A ripe yet fresh blend of semillon and sauvignon from the Dubourdieu family’s well-respected property in the Graves. Grown on limestone soils which are ideally suited for making serious white Bordeaux.
