At this special tutored tasting, Freddy Bulmer will explore the concept of regionality across two of his favourite grape varieties, riesling and pinot noir.

Freddy will showcase pinot noirs from Australia and New Zealand, as well as rieslings from Austria and the Antipodes.

With featured producers including Mac Forbes, Kooyong, Neudorf and Domäine Wachau, it will be a wonderful opportunity to compare and contrast the styles of wine and explore the impact of terroir in these different parts of the world.

Alongside the selected wines each guest will receive a personal plate of premium cheeses from the Fine Cheese Company.

Freddy Bulmer

Freddy Bulmer joined the buying team in September 2015 having originally moved down from Yorkshire to work in Member Services as a Christmas temp in 2013. Freddy is responsible for Australia, New Zealand, Austria and Eastern Europe, as well as being buyer for beer and cider.

The Tastings & Events and Buying teams love to share their knowledge, expertise and the joy of wine with members and there is no better way than through tasting and talking about different wines. Across our variety of tutored events and masterclasses tailored to different levels of experience, there is bound to be an event that appeals to you.

Do you send physical tickets or is it all e-tickets?

We no longer send out physical tickets for our events. An email confirming registration will be sent to the member who has purchased the ticket(s) and this email can be used as confirmation upon arrival at the event.

Can I bring a non-member?

Yes. Tickets must be booked by a member, but you are welcome to bring non-member guests.

Do I need to know lots about wine to attend?

Absolutely not! Our events target a range of experience and knowledge levels, and we try to make this clear on our event pages. If you’re unsure if an event is for you, simply contact tastings@thewinesociety.com and we will try to help.

Do I get a discount on wines after events?

After our ‘in person’ events, we offer attendees a 10% discount on the wines we have shown, subject to availability. You will be provided with a private code after attending the event to redeem the discount

Can I join a waiting list for sold out events?

Yes. Please do feel free to join our waiting lists for sold out events. If tickets become available you will be contacted by email.

Members attending in person events will receive a 10% discount on available wines featured in that event. This discount does not apply to wines that are currently offered with any other discount.
