Introduction to Alsace Whites Case
Wines included
Sylvaner, Léon Beyer 2022
Classic, dry sylvaner with the freshness to complement seafood now but will open up to the versatile wine we have come to expect from this historic house.
Gewurztraminer, Cave de Turckheim 2023
Wonderfully exuberant Alsace gewurz with classic rosewater, ginger and citrus aromas anfd flavours combined with a juicy and generous body. Great with a variety of fragrant curries, gewurz is also brilliant with strong and smelly washed-rind cheeses and it loves fresh, tangy but sweet tomatoes too.
Pinot Gris Réserve, Joseph Cattin 2023
Richly textured demi-sec style pinot gris from Alsace, its ripeness evidenced by its touch of peach colour; well-structured, balanced and persistent.
The Society's Vin d'Alsace 2023
Alsace in a bottle! The Society's Vin d'Alsace offers an excellent introduction to the wines of this most beautiful region of France. Rather than being made from a single grape variety, as is the case with most Alsatian wines, this is a blend. The blend is sylvaner, gewurztraminer, pinot gris, riesling, muscat and pinot blanc, here in a juicy vintage with plenty of freshness. It's full-flavoured and dry, yet with plenty of florals and ripe peach aromas, and gastronomically versatile.
Riesling Sec, Domaine Louis Sipp 2022 ORGANIC
A precise young riesling with texture, freshness and jasmine, lemon verbena and flinty notes on the palate. It comes from a producer based in the picturesque Alsace village of Ribeauvillé, who is on top form.
Pinot Blanc, Cave de Turckheim 2023
From one of France's most highly regarded co-operatives, this is a crisp and fresh pinot blanc that expresses itself with lots of citrus and stone-fruit aromas. With a delicate palate and hints of spice this wine will pair perfectly with white fish and goats cheese salad, or simply drinking without food.
