Wines included
Barbera del Piemonte, Amonte 2020
Charming cherry-scented light and refreshing wine from Piedmont in the north of Italy. Simple yet poised, this is packed full of cherry, berry summer fruits.
Chianti, Cerro del Masso 2019
Made by Alberto Antonini at Poggiotondo, this is made from selected grapes from surrounding growers. Red-cherry and cranberry-scented this is a classic medium-bodied refreshing Chianti that would be wonderful with salami or a good pizza.
The Society's Barbera d'Asti Superiore 2019
This medium-bodied marvel from north-west Italy reprised its winning performance in last year’s Championship. Its high-toned combination of pronounced acidity and ripe juicy red fruit makes it a great match with tomatoey dishes.
The Society's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2020
This much-loved Montepulciano's ripe cherry and strawberry perfume leaps out of the glass, while the palate has a pure fruit richness and refreshing finish. A great modern version of a traditional central Italian red that's food-friendly and very tasty.
Valpolicella Valpantena, Torre del Falasco 2020
Vibrant, red-berry and cracked black-pepper perfume, a light body yet concentrated summer-berry flavours and a refreshing finish - classic youthful, delicious Valpolicella. This Italian could be lightly chilled too, and would be perfect with a spicy pizza or cold cuts.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Vigna Corvino 2020
Bright in colour and style, this red has great vibrancy and energy. Its pure red-cherry and pomegranate aromas are joined on the palate by clove, spice, plum and a balsamic touch. Delicious.
