We couldn’t resist buying this parcel of top-end Lalande-de-Pomerol, which was offered to us at an incredibly attractive price. 2016 is an excellent vintage and the Thienpont’s have crafted a supremely elegant and rich red that has developed gracefully in bottle. This combines hints of tobacco with red fruit notes and a palate that is supported by ripe, integrated tannins and a long finish.
