Lure of the Loire

Fresh, vibrant Touraine-inspired Loire sauvignon from specialists of the grape, Maison Bougrier, and great value. Home to some of the greatest sauvignons at every price point, the Loire tends to offer a more sleek, understated style that is wonderful with food eaten al fresco.

From the Vinet family in the western Loire, this light, typically refreshing sur lie style is versatile, but still the classic match for shellfish.

Made for us by Maison Bougrier in the young, fresh 'brasserie' style we have been enjoying for a few vintages now, this deeply coloured cabernet franc has aromas and flavours of red and black fruits and a clean, juicy finish. It is the fruits of which the wine is so redolent that adorn the label. The wine captures the fresh style of contemporary cabernet franc, and provides a match when enjoyed with classic bistro-style dishes like rotisserie chicken, rosemary-scented lamb cutlets, or a simple picnic of charcuterie and good cheese. Chill slightly to enjoy at its best!

From the Haut-Poitou region, south of Touraine in the Loire, this is a deeply coloured and juicy gamay, riper than the 2021, but with a lovely expression of fresh red fruits.

Ripe and refreshing chardonnay from the tiny Mauges region east of Nantes, with a little body and texture for easy, anyday drinking. Wherever the vines are planted, Chistophe Réthoré nurtures them with great care and the estate is signed up to the Terra Vitis charter that stipulates a regimen of sustainable farming and consideration for the environment.

Formerly labelled Chapitre, this charming pinot comes from a tiny but historic vineyard area of the western Loire, delivering flavours of ripe cherries.
