London - 1874 Spring - Walkaround tasting
We are once again on the road with our popular 1874 themed walk-around tastings, this time for the Spring edition.
Based on our Spring edition of the 1874 magazine, this tasting will be divided up into a series of mini-walkaround tastings covering a range of themes including:
Central Italy, focusing on the terrific variety and value to be found in Italy's heartland from Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. With a selection of ten wines to taste, this is a chance to explore the myriad grape varieties and winemaking traditions on offer in this diverse region.
The wines of the Rhône Valley with two fabulous whites from the excellent 2021 vintage, as well as four seriously good reds from both the north and south with a selection that ranges from the everyday drinking to some truly great value fine wines.
As we move into the warmer weather, with parties and weddings in the pipeline, what better time than to try our selection of four Sparkling wines for Spring which provide a delicious alternative to Champagne.
To celebrate our ‘own label’ relaunch we have three of our new-look bottles for the wines we're proud to call our own. The wines inside the bottle are pretty good too!
Freddy Bulmer, Society Buyer for Australia has been busy recently and so here we shine a spotlight on three fine wines he has introduced to The Society’s range, following a recent buying trip to Oz.
Finally, for those looking for wines outside the usual classic grape varieties and regions, we have our Adventure’s Selection, with a choice of four niche wines for lovers of the esoteric and deliciously alternative, alongside some bright-fruited reds that would be delightfully refreshing slightly chilled for springtime drinking.
These events are all about ensuring our members get to taste as many of our wines as possible. They vary in size and theme, but all provide a relaxed environment for our members to guide their own tasting with a glass and booklet provided on arrival. Whether you want to discover something new, reconnect with an old favourite or try a wine you’d never ordinarily approach, then our walkaround tastings could be for you.
