LS Merchants Wilyabrup Margaret River Petit Verdot 2021
It's not often you see a varietal petit verdot and upon tasting this you may well wonder why. LS Merchants have proven that you can make utterly delicious wine from this Bordeaux variety, thanks to the Margaret River climate and sensitive winemaking. The nose is immediately inviting, with peppery, bright black-fruit aromas, violets, notes of soy, redcurrant and plum. The palate is impressively managed, being full-bodied but not at all overbearing, and it bursts with life. The tannins are silky with bright, crunchy fruit, leathery savoury character, mocha and sweet spices with a bright, fresh and lifted finish, with more savoury notes and a bright cranberry crunch. Decant for the full effect and serve with hearty, peppery foods.
