Limarí is now regarded as Chile's pre-eminent region for chardonnay. The grape thrives here due to the Pacific`s strong cooling influence, low rainfall and the soils, which contain limestone. This crisp and refreshing wine is made exclusively for us by Concha y Toro's brilliant winemakers Marcelo Papa and Ignacio Recabarren. Some stirring of the yeast lees is done to add richness to the palate, and the wine is unoaked to avoid masking its bright citrus fruit and typical hint of minerality. To cap it all, Concha y Toro are a leader in more sustainable working practices with strategies to reduce energy and water use, environmental projects including increasing biodiversity, and many local community initiatives. The Chilean bellflower (or lapageria rosea), known locally as copihue, adorns the label and is the national flower of Chile. Please note. this wine is bottled without a capsule.
