Stefan was born in Austria and began his wine journey in the Wachau region there. In 2017, he became one of only 239 Master Sommeliers in the world and a year later became the Director of Wine at ‘Dinner by Heston Blumenthal’ – one of the most coveted sommelier jobs in the world.
Stefan has a passion for pairing the wines of Austria with a wide range of cuisines and in this one-hour conversation, he and Freddy will explore some of the more unusual and interesting food pairings to enjoy with these wines.
We’re proud of a diverse online food and wine programme at The Wine Society. Formats range from cheese and wine evenings, takeaway nights and restaurant ‘dine at home’ kits. We will explain where to purchase the food in advance; either from trusted partners or your own local suppliers, and we will suggest the wines to buy in advance to accompany the evening.
