Online - An evening with Chateau Moulin-a-vent
Tim Sykes welcomes Edouard Parinet of fine wine Beaujolais producer, Château du Moulin-a-Vent, for a special member event complete with sample pack available to purchase here.
Château du Moulin-a-Vent is a jewel of the northern Beaujolais Cru of its namesake - Moulin-a-Vent.
Run by the father-and-son duo, Jean-Jacques and Edouard Parinet, the Château specialises in serious wines from the region, exploring the ability to make wines that combine ethereal perfume with dense, intensity. Their focus is on terroir, releasing single vineyard wines which this event will explore in more detail. They produce wines in a style more akin to their Burgundian neighbours and with utmost sophistication.
Tim Sykes, our buyer for Beaujolais, suggests that this producer is really hitting their stride at the moment, and we’re delighted to welcome them to share their wines with our members as they continue this upward trajectory.
The pair will taste and discuss their hallamark Moulin-à-Vent from the 2018 and 2020 vintage followed by two special single vineyard wines ‘Les Verillats’ and ‘La Rochelle’, both from the 2020 vintage. Croix des Vérillats is named after the cross that stands on the property, it is their most savoury expression and incredibly age-worthy so great to lay down, and ‘La Rochelle’ is the plot with the oldest vines of over 80 years in age, producing an intense and truly remarkable expression.
We’re offering members wine sample packs to purchase alongside the event. The packs feature the four wines described above and can be bought at the link here.

Tasting our wines online is an exciting new proposition for The Wine Society. For these events, we encourage members to buy the wines specified, sometimes this may be one or two bottles and other times it might be a tasting samples pack or mixed case created for the event. To get the most out of these events, we do suggest correlating as closely as possible to our chosen list as these are the wines that will be explained and explored by our knowledgeable team.
