The Blandy’s are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own wine company. Chris, seventh generation and CEO, is one of the most influential people on the island and there are few better people to talk about this famous and historic style of wine.

In conjunction with the webinar, Blandy’s have kindly produced a tasting kit for our members so that they can taste-along with the different styles of wines from the comfort of their homes.

This really is an opportunity like no other, so if you’re a fortified wine fan or just keen to learn more – get your hands on a kit whilst you can!

The kits, which will be available to purchase through the Wine Society from early September will include 50ml of each of the following:

20 Year Old Malmsey
30 Year Old Bual
Colheita Sercial 2008
Colheita Verdelho 2008
Colheita Bual 2003
Colheita Malmsey 2004

By registering for the event, you will automatically be alerted when kits become available.

Now one of our most popular offerings, these events are designed to give members an insight into wineries by hearing from those on the ground. Often there will be wines to compliment the event, though buying these wines is not compulsory to attend or enjoy the event, and these sessions can be watched with a cup of tea if you would prefer!
