Online - Focus on - Spotlight on Oregon
A 45-minute focus on the fine wine state of Oregon, USA followed by a 15-minute Q&A and discuss. Further details and optional wines found below.
In this Focus On event we celebrate the beauty of this lesser known American state as part of our 1874 Magazine focus.
Oregon only established its roots as a wine producing state in 1960s but since then has taken the fine world world by storm - famed for its quality and likened to Burgundy.
In this 45 minute session we'll explore the varieties used with a focus on aromatics, chardonnay and their famous pinot noir as well as discussing the AVA system, top producers and 'what's next'.
The three wines Anna will choose to demonstrate the story can be found below and will launched and available to buy on 16th September with the 1874 offer. You do not need to purchase the wines to attend, but we do encourage you to buy one, two or even three to enhance your experience.

Our ‘focus on’ event series is designed to delve a little deeper into the world of wine. Whether it’s jumping feet first into one appellation; tackling a viticultural topic; exploring a wine-making technique or geeking out on geology and history, these events are each 45 minutes of focus designed for those wanting more than the everyday event.
Our online tutored events are one of the most popular styles at The Wine Society. Drawing on a wealth of knowledge from our tasting team, our buyers, and sometimes our producers, we love giving our members the opportunity to learn with us and broaden their understanding of the vast world of wine.
Themes vary from big picture topics to detailed deep dives and if you’re not sure if the event will be pitched at your level of experience, then simply get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
