Online - Sip-Size - Introduction to Chile
A whistle-stop tour of one of the most diverse and great value wine regions of the world, all from the comfort of your own home.
The wines of Chile are often considered to be some of the best value in the world but that’s not the only reason that this country is remarkable in the world of wine.
It’s long, thin shape, flanked by the Pacific Ocean, Andes Mountains and Atacama Desert means that it is one of the most isolated countries in the world in terms of viticulture – one of the only places to not have been infected by phylloxera. This unusual shape and positioning also affords it some of the most varied vine growing sites in the world producing a truly broad range of wines.
Join Anna from the Tastings Team as she explores this varied and exciting wine producing country – championing the regional specialities and giving top tips on up-and-coming areas to watch out for.
The three wines that Anna will be tasting during the event can be found below. You can buy one or two of the wines but to get maximum enjoyment we do encourage you to buy all three if you can.

Our sip-size events are the ideal way to explore the world of wine from the comfort of your home. The 45-minute sessions are a friendly mix of wine education and evening entertainment presented by The Wine Society’s very own Tastings Team.
Each week a different topic is tackled from grape varieties to regions; wine styles and production methods but always ensuring that the session is suitable for all levels – only a love of wine or a thirst for a little more knowledge required. We’ll provide recommendations for three wines to taste alongside each event, but of course you’re welcome to join with any wine you choose – or even a cup of tea!
