Online - Sugar and spice: Christmas puddings and wines to match
From Christmas pudding, to sherry trifle, yule logs to mince pies, Christmas time is heaven for lovers of decadent desserts, but what about the wines to pair with them? Join Emma and Gil from the Tastings team to explore some of the vinous options available in what promises to be a relaxed and festive (of course), food and wine matching online tasting.
Christmas is a time for decadent desserts, and decadent desserts are made even better when accompanied by decadent wines! Join the Tasting teams Emma and Gil for their suggestions, hints and tips of what to serve for all your festive puddings.
Over the space of an hour and 15 minutes, delve into the sweet side of Christmas, discussing matters such as which wines will stand up to the richness of a Christmas pudding and the best Sherry for a trifle, not forgetting the perennial debate of how to create the perfect cheese board and what to serve alongside it.
Emma and Gil will be showing a selection of wines and dishes as examples and encourage you to join with one, some or all!
We will be trying the following puddings during the event, please do join us with one, two, or all of the desserts!

We’re proud of a diverse online food and wine programme at The Wine Society. Formats range from cheese and wine evenings, takeaway nights and restaurant ‘dine at home’ kits. We will explain where to purchase the food in advance; either from trusted partners or your own local suppliers, and we will suggest the wines to buy in advance to accompany the evening.
