Open House Reds Case
Wines included
The Society's Australian Shiraz 2021
Aside from being good people, Bleasdale also make wines that consistently overperform, even in more challenging vintages. This is a prime example. It's wonderfully vibrant, bold, generous and fruity, with flavours of black cherry, blueberry and blackberry. Given the outstanding quality of the 2021 vintage, its no surprise that this may well be the best ever release of this wine.
Undurraga Candelabro Reserva Cauquenes Carmenère-Carignan 2023
A yin and yang Chilean blend. Ripe and fleshy carmenère is balanced by the freshness and grip of carignan. Cauquenes is in the warm Maule region and ideal for maturing these two varieties.
Isola della Fiamma, Nero d'Avola Sicilia, Cantine Rallo 2023
This full-bodied, blackberry-scented red seems soaked in the Sicilian sun, but having been grown at relative high altitude it has retained a lovely freshness on the finish. Youthful, bold and unoaked, this red has great character.
Dominio de Punctum Syrah Organic, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla 2022
The high-altitude of the Meseta and clay soils bring freshness and balance to this vibrant and robust, plummy syrah from the Cuena province of central Spain. Produced from organic and biodynamic grapes, it bursts with dark fruit with some subtle toasty notes and would make a great pairing to a hearty stew.
Stonedance Hutton Red, Piekenierskloof 2024
Richly fruited and generous South African blend of shiraz, mourvèdre, cinsault and carignan packed with bramble, blackberry and spice notes with an ample palate, soft tannins and impressive concentration for the price.
Clay Creek Vineyards California Pinot Noir 2023
This is a lovely, fruit-forward, bright pinot from California. With grapes sourced from the cooler delta AVA of Clarksburg it has a cherry-scented, vibrant crisp style.
