Opus One 2019
Red Wine from USA - California
A unique collaboration between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild came to fruition in 1984, when the maiden vintage (1979) of Opus One was launched. 2019 continues the tradition of a cabernet-driven blend of Napa grapes, inspired by Pauillac, and aged entirely in new oak. The mix in this vintage is 78% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 6% petit verdot, 6% cabernet franc, and 2% malbec and it`s already delicious, with vivacious bramble and cassis flavours, underpinned by trademark cedar and chocolate notes and supported by polished tannins. Decant to enjoy its youthful charm now, or give it time to fulfil its potential of legendary complexity and poise.
