Very pale. Light but quite characterful with grapefruit and lemon on the palate. A bitter-almond note so typical for Italian whites on the finish. Only medium length, but certainly refreshing. Good value. ...

There is more to Italian dry white wine than pinot grigio, so next time you're thinking of picking up a bottle look a little to the left or right on the shelf and pick up a bottle of something just that little bit different. Maybe you'd stop at the Gavis, and if you do try searching out this wine that I first came across getting on for 20 years ago. Gone are the days when I was opening and serving cases of this every day, but there was definitely a spark of excitement as I added it to my basket before completing my online order. Would it be as good as I remember? Short answer. Yes. It's refreshing, it's light and it's dry. This wonderful white has abundant fruit flavours of pear and apple with hints of lemony citrus adding zesty notes. This wine hails from the hills of Piemonte in north-western Italy and is made from the same cortese grape as Gavi. It's a genuinely crowd-pleasing wine and is best enjoyed straight from the fridge with friends.

If you like almost-invisible dry whites, then [this] ticks the fresh and clean boxes. Think flavours of faint lemon, bay and stone.
