Pietradolce
The Faro family are well-established in Sicily as expert agronomists and owners of a major nursery of Mediterranaean plants, and Pietradolce was founded by Michele Faro in 2005 as their first steps into wine. They purchased 11 hectares of 80 to 120-year-old pre-phylloxera vines on the northern slopes of Sicily's famous volcano, Mount Etna, and quickly recruited talented winemaker Giuseppe Parlavecchio. His incredibly laid-back style is central to the way in which he blends traditional winemaking techniques with genuine curiosity and experimentation to craft very fine, deliciously multi-layered wines.
