The Society's Cava Reserva Brut 2021
A highly praised, lowly priced standout in our 2024 Wine Champions sparkling tastings, this serial Champion hails from the small family estate of Sumarroca who make it exclusively for members. Described as ‘wonderful, full but fresh and with such energy`, this is a failsafe favourite.
Three Bunches Australian Shiraz 2022
Full-bodied, fruity Australian shiraz with attractive aromas on the nose and a generous palate. Notes of crushed black fruit are joined by a delicious hint of mocha coffee and vibrant dark cherry.
The Society's French Grenache, Côtes Catalanes 2023
Grenache is the main red variety in the Roussillon, the warmest province of France. Very versatile, grenache here makes a deliciously full and fruity red which can be served cool.
Grove Mill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024
An excellent New Zealand sauvignon with vibrant peach fruit and appealing grassy aromas. Pioneers in Marlborough's Wairau Valley, Grove Mill make every effort to minimise their environmental impact.
Sabina Tempranillo, Navarra 2023
A modest, inexpensive Spanish red from the country's most famous grape. This is smooth, fruity and more mellow than usual with a touch of cedar. Everything about Bodegas Príncipe de Viana is vast. Owners of over 400 hectares of vines in Navarra, they control a further 500 hectares, but the winemaking approach is sensitive and modest, aiming always for clean, balanced flavours and offering superb value for money.
Vermentino Sicilia, Mandrarossa 2024
Vermentino is a grape variety that loves the heat yet retains its natural acidity, making refreshing styles of wine even in the sun-drenched vineyards of Sicily. This peach and lemon-scented example comes from a brilliantly run co-operative near Menfi.
