Quinta da Pedra Alta 'Pedra a Pedra' Tinto, Douro 2020
This blend of native grapes from an excellent small producer in the stunning Douro Valley of Portugal has a lovely core of blackberries, wild raspberry, blueberry and graphite on the nose. The palate is full-bodied but not tiring, with lovely amounts of life and freshness of fruit. Bramble, blackcurrant and blueberry flavours are joined by delicate notes of nutmeg, cloves and a mouth watering finish. The blend is 51% touriga nacional, 34% tinta barroca, 11% touriga franca and 4% sousão planted on beautiful steep terraced vineyards. Winemaker João Pires has captured the freshness and ripe fruit flavours perfectly.
