Rüdesheimer Ramstein Riesling Trocken, Johannishof 2021
The feature on this steep escarpment looks a bit like a ram’s head, hence the name of this vineyard which was first mentioned in the 12th century. A dry, full-flavoured, minerally riesling with yellow plum and a touch of spice.

Johannes and Sabine Eser have 20 hectares of vines centred in the Johannisberg. Vogelsang on sandy soil is between Schloss Johannisberg and Schloss Vollrads. Goldätzel on quartz is more minerally. The warmest site on quartz in front of Schloss Johannisberg is Klaus. They also own vines in Rudesheimer Berg Roseneck and Rottland and in the heavier soil of Winkeler Jesuitengarten.
