Schweigen Sonnenberg Riesling, Weingut Jülg 2018
An exceptionally good dry riesling from the border town of Schweigen. The Sonnenberg vineyard is actually on French soil and overlooks Wissembourg. Very long with a twist of salt and citrus.

Weingut Jülg
This is a family estate based in the southern Palatinate, right on the border with Alsace. Indeed, the border as it was finally drawn in 1945 actually cuts through their vineyards so that half of their vines are actually in France and overlook the lovely Alsace town of Wissembourg! The wine styles here reflect all that is best in today's Germany: dry, fruity wines from a raft of different grape varieties.
