Wines included

Château Léoville-Poyferré, Saint-Julien 2010

One of the great wines of the superb 2010 vintage. Rich, full, multi-faceted, with a lovely freshness that gives the wine 'lift' without losing the depth and length of flavour. Splendid claret. This wine is a Museum Release: thanks to our member-owned co-operative model, our buyers are able to buy wines to mature in the perfect conditions of our temperature-controlled cellars and release them when they are ready to enjoy.

Château D'Yquem, Sauternes 2006

Complete and classy. Intensely sweet but characteristically racy and refined, with notably pure fruit and a lovely scented finish. Outstanding. This wine is a Museum Release: thanks to our member-owned co-operative model, our buyers are able to buy wines to mature in the perfect conditions of our temperature-controlled cellars and release them when they are ready to enjoy.

France

Champagne Bollinger RD 2007

This prestige cuvée is released ready for drinking following 100% barrel fermentation and extended lees aging. 2007 was, for many, a tricky vintage and has led to a complex, perhaps more elegant style of RD in smaller quantities being released. Bollinger carefully selected only the best small parcels from grand and premier cru villages for the blend, which is 66% pinot noir (with 30% this from the Verzenay grand cru rather than the more traditional reliance on pinot from Aÿ, contributing to the elegance in style) and 34% chardonnay (with the majority of this from Cramant grand cru). There is great poise to this excellent Champange, with orange peel and macadamia nuts on the nose, bright acidity balanced by the leesy notes of hazelnut cream and pine nuts with apricot and plum coming through on the long finish.

France

Domaine Jean Grivot, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2013

This is quite a silky style for Vougeot, emphasising the sweetness of fruit and minimising the tannic structure. This wine is a Museum Release: thanks to our member-owned co-operative model, our buyers are able to buy wines to mature in the perfect conditions of our temperature-controlled cellars and release them when they are ready to enjoy.

Louis Jadot, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Héritiers) 2013

From the south-facing Pougets vineyard, this is powerful and rich. At Jadot, I tasted this after Le Montrachet and it is not embarrassed in this elite company.

France

Ridge Monte Bello 2016

Winemaker Eric Baugher stated that he felt this vintage really encapsulates the 'wonderful complexity expressing the unique character of our limestone soils and mountain vineyards.' This youthful wine reveals expressive damson, cassis and vanilla oak aromas. Its firm young tannins and bright acidity support the flavours to perfection, offering concentrated blackberry, plum and clove notes. A truly elegant mountainside California wonder. 2021–2036.
