Small Wonders Whites
Wines included
Pinot Gris Réserve, Trimbach 2019
Classically styled, creamy, textured pinot gris with gentle fragrance of white fruits and flowers, refreshing mineral core and long finish. Only just starting to open up, this is delicious now but with plenty more to offer.
The Society's Exhibition Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2021
Two thirds of this California chardonnay comes from the warmer Rodney's vineyard, and a third from the fog-laden Los Alamos. Picked at night, this wine is fermented in Hungarian and French oak barrels, 20-30% of which are new, creating a wine with great balance of oak and ripe orchard fruit.
Château Doisy-Daëne Sec, Bordeaux 2021
Poised and harmonious dry sauvignon from a château more noted for its delicious sweet wines, this wine offers aromas of stone-fruit and blossom with a fresh palate. Bordeaux sauvignon blanc at its best. The estate has been owned by the Dubourdieu family since 1924, pioneers and innovators in the making of fine white Bordeaux wines. Wines are harvested by hand which both minimises damage to the vines and eliminates the carbon footprint which would accompany the use of machinery. Please note: if you have arrived here searching by code and expecting to find Black & Wine Blanc de Noirs Vin de France 2023, please accept our apologies: this is due to a printing error in our List. You can find this wine by searching for BW7681.
Sancerre 'Les Chailloux', François et Jean-Marie Cherrier 2023
A member favourite from the Cherrier family in this flagship Loire appellation where they have had vines since 1848, this Sancerre is creamy textured and fresh, with typical touch of salinity and a crisp finish.
Pewsey Vale The Contours 'Museum Reserve' Eden Valley Riesling 2017
Haunting and ethereal and so characteristic of the best of Australia's Eden Valley rieslings, this is bone dry, with pin-point precision and electric energy. The nose has notes of fresh-cut grass, classic riesling kerosene and lemon rind and the palate is zesty, deep and tempered by the complex touch of maturity.
Benanti Etna Bianco 2023
This 100% carricante from Etna's eastern and southern slopes, varying from 700m to 950m in elevation, is incredibly perfumed this vintage. Aromas of frangipani blossom and jasmine flowers, lemon and white grapefruit follow through to a refreshing yet rich palate, with lovely breath and texture on the vibrant, salty finish.
