California Vintage 2014
In Sonoma, after a moderately warm, dry summer, heat levels really began to rise in September/October, prompting an earlier than usual harvest. Napa had a tricky vintage - budburst was early, and the crop was fast ripening, although summer was largely free of extreme heat. But freak hailstorms and some rain at harvest made the decision on when to pick difficult. Many vineyards were also affected by this year's earthquakes.
