Simonsig Cap Classique Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs 2017
South African producer Simonsig made the Cape's very first Méthode Cap Classique in 1971. This delicate, lemony chardonnay fizz spent three years on the lees - the longest of any in their range, for a fine mousse and complexity of flavour.
The Society's Prosecco
Prosecco has long been a favourite of the Venetians, but now the secret is well and truly out! The glera grape thrives on the sometimes steeply sloped vineyards of the province of Treviso in Veneto, where Marisa Merotto and Cesare Adami`s artisanal winery is located. Yields here are naturally lower than those on the valley floors, giving a more intense style of wine. Light, dry, zesty and mineral, with a delightfully crisp finish, this peach and pear-scented sparkling wine is an ideal aperitif. Cesare's estate, Riva dei Frati, is based in the Valdobbiadene area where the limestone soils yield the fossilised ammonites that we depict on our stylish new label
Vecchio Moro Lambrusco Grasparossa Rinaldini
This classic Italian red sparkler has deep-purple bubbles, a fragrant, ripe fresh dry palate of cranberry-fruit flavour and a lovely refreshing finish. An adventurous aperitif, not to mention an excellent match for cold cuts.
Blanquette de Limoux M le Mauzac Réserve, Antech 2021
From the world's first sparkling wine region, comes this crisp and fruity Languedoc fizz. Soft and appealing with a lively mousse and a hint of apple. The little town of Limoux spans the Aude, upstream from Carcassonne. A strong Benedictine presence ensured that there were vines and, so the story goes, in 1531.
Cava Conde de Haro Brut 2020
Seriously good Spanish Cava from Muga in Rioja, fermented in bottle and aged for two years just like Champagne. This gives it similar depth and complexity, balancing youthful freshness and toasty richness with fine bubbles and excellent length of flavour. This bodega was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Marínez and his wife Auro Caño, both from winemaking families. Today, it is run by their three sons.
